Tom Hill

About Me

  • Tom was born on January 15, 1952 in Fargo, North Dakota to Jerry and Jean (Franke) Hill. Tom lived in Fargo, ND and Tulsa, OK before moving to Springfield, MO as a teen. He graduated from Parkview High School in 1970. After attending college for 2 years Tom took a job with Southern Missouri Containers. He moved up to a supervisor role and worked there for over 35 years. He retired from the company in 2017. Tom and Dianna married on July 6, 1991 in Springfield, MO. Dianna and her daughters, Ashley and Nina, joined Tom and his son, Chris, now all living under one roof. As you can imagine this was an adjustment for all, but one that led to many great memories and a tightly knit family unit.

  • Tom was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and gardening. He loved having others join him in doing his favorite hobbies and loved to teach the tricks of the trades. When he wasn't enjoying one of his favorite hobbies, he could be found watching one of his grandchildren's events. Tom rarely missed seeing one of his grandkids dance or play sports. Tom also greatly enjoyed music and reading. Tom's family is what brought him the most joy. He will be remembered for his passion for the outdoors, his love of his family and friends, and his kind heart.

  • Tom was preceded in death on October 25th, 2021 by his parents, Jerry and Jean (Franke) Hill and his father-in-law, Darrold Singleton. He is survived by his wife Dianna (Singleton) Hill. His son Chris (Sara) Hill, his daughters, Ashley (Loren) Carr and Nina (Jesse) Clem. Tom is survived by his 6 grandchildren, Keira Collins, Landis Carr, Iris Hill, Zoey Clem, Maddax Carr, and Elyn Hill. He is survived by his brothers Tim (Teresa) Hill, Nick (Carol) Hill, and his sister Debbie (James) Smith. Tom is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
